While I really like WordPress the lack of theme choices kind of bothers me. That’s one of the reasons why I think I really enjoyed VOX and I think I may actually go back. I would start all over again of course, but I haven’t really decided anything yet. I just wish WordPress had more choices than you know something plain and black and white….to I believe one layout is a banana smoothie type deal. Where’s the color? Where’s the excitement? Right now though I have a lot going on so tomorrow I probably won’t blog at all. At noon I have to go in and give a power point presentation to a group of clients about the new designs I’ve come up with and etc. really boring stuff so hopefully I can stay awake and do a good job. Than later tonight I’m having a girls night out with my best friends’ Talia and Katie so it should be fun. I haven’t been out in a while and Outback sounds really yummy right now so there’s no way I’m saying no to that.

First I want to thank the people over at this particular Haloscan board. I had started visiting only recently and someone was nice enough to post my blog after I made my last post about someone they are very familiar with. I have to admit it’s a pretty fun board and it really does humor me. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed out loud reading something before like I do there. They are a group of very awesome people, with very good opinions, and some of you may be offended, but guess what? I don’t care. Everyone is entitled to their OWN opinion and I think it’s nice to have somewhere to vent and be able to say what I want. Keep it up guys you rock!

With that being said I’m shifting over to the blog title. I have to say I am quite disappointed with the Election this year. I thought that my first time ever voting would be a really great experience, but I have to say I’m not looking forward to it. I am going to vote, but I am not pleased at all with either candidate that we have running. I personally think John McCain has fallen off the deep end and for me Barack Obama has very little experience. There are some issues I agree with McCain on, some I agree with Barack on so I guess you could say I am kind of in the middle, which is a tough place to be when the elections are rapidly approaching. I’m not going to sit here and present to you my political views I think that is something to keep for myself, but I think as each day passes I am growing more sure of who it is I am going to be picking. Wish me luck guys I am definitely going to need it. Oh and my jeans from Target finally came in! I was a little unsure about the wash (they’re gray and I have never owned a pair of gray denim jeans) so it will take some getting use to, but they will definitely look great with the black boots I bought! Oh Target how I love thee

Just Life

I officially have the most wonderful husband and girl could ask for. He always finds ways to surprise me. Today I was home working and looking after Noah, when I heard a knock at the door. I didn’t think too much about it since I actually ordered a pair of jeans the other day (They’re coming tomorrow! Woo!) so I figured it was the UPS man or something. I answered the door and there was my sweet husband holding a bouquet of roses. It was soooo sweet! What was even sweet was he told me the roses represented our “Past, Present, and Future” together *Swoon* Too bad he’s not like this more often, but I have to give the guy credit because he does try really hard. After that I fixed him some lunch since he’d only be home a few minutes before heading back to school for the rest of his classes. I’ll be so glad when he’s done with school and on a fixed schedule so I’ll have more time to spend with him. I felt kind of bad because Noah pitched a fit when daddy had to leave, but I tried to explain to him that daddy would be home later. Sure enough about an hour ago Daddy came home. So now I get a chance to relax and actually blog about some things that have been really bothering me. I recently came upon a site of a blogger who is expecting a child. Of course people were giving her a hard time for being unwed and I felt the need to give her some kind words. I’ve been there so I know how it feels, but than after a while I started to notice some things I really disliked about her. I read her previous entries and realized that she has stated that they planned to have the baby before marriage for insurance purposes. Wow. Having a baby so you can stay on your mother’s health insurance? Hmmm maybe not that bad, but I mean if you couldn’t afford health insurance maybe you shouldn’t really be having a baby, but to each their own. Than I think today was the breaking point. I have to admit her lack of maturity when it comes to having a baby is unbelievable. She’s not even 6 weeks pregnant and already posting her baby registry and the terms she uses for her baby really annoy me. I just don’t think it’s appropriate to refer to your unborn baby as a fetal monkey and than describe your first ultrasound as “going to see my baby with a dildocam.” Her humor is just tasteless and I can no longer stand reading her blog. Every time I do it makes me really upset to see someone treat such a beautiful thing in such a manner. It’s almost like it’s a joke to her, but maybe she’ll grow up one day. I can only hope.

Here We Go Again

I decided to move from Vox to WordPress being that WordPress is a more popular blogging platform and I am trying to meet new people. I must warn you that I can be very opinionated at times and I am going to be later on in this blog post, but let’s just get the good stuff out of the way I chose the name “Hotcarded” well because “themword” was taken and because at my previous job I heard the term hotcarded a lot and it was never a good thing, but I thought it was a cool name for a blog. I just recently got into blogging since I started working from home. While my son was napping I use to get really bored especially if work was slow and my employer wasn’t sending me much to do. I also have a lot to say (vent mostly), but this is a good way for me to get all my frustrations out. Wouldn’t you say?

Moving on to my very opinionated topic…one thing that absolutely gets under my skin is when someone who has basically lived their life out on the internet gets upset and says

“It’s none of their business anyways.”

Does anyone else find this to be slightly hypocritical? I mean they chose to broadcast their life online so they kind of made it everyone’s business. It’s not like they’re telling someone something in secret and than they leak it over the internet. They write these blogs and put their stuff out there. They’re old enough to know that they have control over what they say and if there is something that they don’t want people to know about than keep it private. Like my second pregnancy for instance. I didn’t tell anyone I was pregnant until I was a good deal into my second trimester I didn’t even tell my own husband. Therefore, no one knew about it, no one was gossiping about it behind my back, it was a complete secret. I’m tired of reading these whiny blog posts when half the time they set themselves up for the criticism and trash talking. Maybe I’m wrong, but that is simply just how I feel about the situation in general. If you think maybe I’m wrong in my assumption please feel free to let me know and I’d be more than happy to hear your side of the story.
